Difference between Dashboards and Reports

How many of us, who work with IT, use the terms 'Dashboard' and 'Report' often? It is sometimes surprising to see people use both the terms to refer to the same stuff on the monitor. But these two terms are not one and the same.

A report is a visual representation of the data that was returned from a given search.

A dashboard is a collection of objects which can include a report as well. It lets you combine multiple such data-insight stories into a single interface.

So using the word report and dashboard as one will not happen ever again, will it?
